Introduction

Born in 1969 in the family of four generations Sitarists Avaneendra Sheolikar is born with classical music in his system. Avaneendra had his initial training under his father Shri Sudhakar Rambhau Sheolikar. Later he joined Illustrious Pandit Bimalendu Mukherjee a doyen of  `Imdadkhani Gharana ´of Sitar, under his tutelage he learned the intricacies of Sitar and his inborn talent grew leaps and bounds.

He made his debut at age of 7 years in Bhilai and has never looked back ever since. The special feature of his performance is subtle nuances of ragas based on `Gayaki style´and `Layakari´.

At the age of 39 years Avaneendra is a matured artist with a deep sense of emotions in his music. Besides numerous performances in India and abroad, Avaneendra has a Masters  degree in Music from Khairagarh university and he was ranked 1st in the year 1993.

For Avaneendra, classical music is not merely a profession or medium of expression, for him as an artist its much much beyound ...
